LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the news making rounds on the media regarding the increase in prices of some vegetables, especially tomato and onion.
He issued instructions to Provincial Cabinet Committee on Price Control from London and said that departments concerned and institutions should take immediate steps to bring the prices to the moderate level.
The chief minister said that hike in prices of vegetables was unacceptable. He said that people could be left at the mercy of profiteers. He said that interest of people was very dear to him and added that public interest would be protected at all cost.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the factors and causes of an increase in prices should be ascertained and prices be brought at reasonable level through immediate steps. agencies
