LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that voters of NA-120 constituency will reject the decision of the Supreme Court regarding disqualification of Nawaz Sharif as prime minister by casting a majority votes in favour of her mother in by-elections on the polling day on September 17.
The NA-120 Lahore-III seat fell vacant after the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif by the Supreme Court on July 28 over the charges of concealing salary from a Dubai-based company owned by his son. Maryam, continuing her mother’s campaign in the constituency, on Tuesday held a rally from her residence Jati Umra, Raiwind, to Abdali Chowk in Krishan Nagar where she inaugurated her party’s election campaign office. She also addressed the gathering of workers at the party office. Interestingly, some workers also brought a lion in a cage to attract potential voters toward the rally.
Addressing the charged PML-N workers who were chanting slogans like “prime minister Nawaz Sharif” and carrying party flags and posters of the disqualified premier, Maryam said that her father and leader of the Lahoris was innocent and the locals would prove it in the by-elections.
