LAHORE: Heavy shelling across the border at the Line of Control (LoC) by the Indian Army left 1 dead and 6 injured on Wednesday.
According to officials, the shelling began at 7:15am and has restricted movement in the area leaving people confined to their homes.
The injured were transported to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Nakyal where they received medical treatment.
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has also confirmed the incident and revealed that Indian forces also suffered during Pakistan Army’s retaliation.
The LoC is a highly militarized area and the tense situation there has claimed the lives of many civilians.
The tense political atmosphere has made things worse in the region. The current situation arose from the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) speeches of Maliha Lodhi and Sushma Suraj during which Lodhi, in a veiled reference to India, called out the ‘world’s biggest democratic country’ as ‘world’s biggest hypocrisy’.
