LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should stop taking democracy’s cover to conceal their misdeeds, adding that a mafia, not democracy, is in danger in the country.
Imran said if the Sharifs fail to respond to the queries raised in the Panama Papers case probe, they will spend the next Eid in Adiala Jail instead of London. “I would like to congratulate the nation as the dark night over us is about to come to an end and will be replaced with a bright future ahead,” he told reporters.
“This case is only about the corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets by the Sharif family. But all the ministers of PML-N have teamed up to defend their wrongdoings.”
Kaptaan said corrupt rulers would be brought to justice. “As a sportsman I have always played to win and never contemplated defeat,” he added.
To a question about the recent speeches of Khawaja Saad Rafique, the PTI chief said the PML-N federal minister has amassed his wealth by converting his black money into prize bonds.
He said it was interesting to see how the people who had left the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to join the PTI had now been declared ‘rotten eggs’ by their former party.
