KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has lashed out at the federal government for not allowing the PPP delegation consisting of former interior minister Senator Rehman Malik and former deputy speaker of the National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi into Parachinar to express solidarity with the victims of the horrible terrorist bomb blasts in the northern areas.
In a statement, the PPP chairman said that the people of Pakistan had failed to understand as to why Parachinar had been made a no-go area, despite such a gory terrorist attack no government representative had visited the area. “When the PPP delegation flew to Parachinar in a helicopter it was not allowed to land in the affected area and was thus forced to return,” he added.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Parachinar was an integral part of Pakistan and leaving people there helpless when they were under severe terrorist attacks was not acceptable.
He expressed complete solidarity with Parachinar victims and demanded immediate justice for them along with foolproof security.
Separately, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the PPP was going to register a great victory in the next general elections, which may be a surprise to those who always predicted doomsday for the party and the opponents’ defeat is written on the wall.
“One of the surprise for our opponents will be Karachi, where the people of the city have finally carved out a major share for the PPP and 2018 general elections will be a landmark for the megalopolis,” he told the party’s Sindh executive, Karachi executive and district office-bearers of Karachi’s six districts at Bilawal House. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was also present on the occasion.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the party workers to focus on the next general elections and said that the entire party should work through a combined and integrated strategy.
The PPP chairman said that by-election from PS-114 Karachi was a test case where the party had fielded a strong candidate.
Those who were present at the meeting include Central Information Secretary Maula Bux Chandio, PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, General Secretary Waqar Mehdi, Information Secretary Senator Aajiz Dhamrah, Finance Secretary Mukesh Chawala, Rashid Rabbani, Dr Asim Hussain, Senator Saeed Ghani, Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza, MNAs Abdul Hakeem Baloch, Shahjahan Baloch and Shahida Rehmani, MPAs Javed Nagori, Murtaza Baloch, Sajid Jokhio, Shamim Mumtaz and Erum Khalid, Salman Abdullah Murad, Lal Bux Bhutto, Humera Alwani, Murtaza Wahab, Noman Shaikh, Raja Abdul Razzak and others.
