SHANGLA: Police have arrested a 55 year old man who allegedly sexually assaulted and strangled a 5 year old girl in the Shang area of Bisham tehsil.
Rahataullah Khan, district police officer made a statement on Thursday during his visit to the crime scene that according to the FIR, the minor who went outside her home in Shang village was first raped by the man on the roof of his house and then strangled to death by him.
The body of the little girl was taken to the local tehsil hospital Bisham, but since there was no female doctor, she was shifted to district headquarters hospital, Alpuri for a post-mortem examination and autopsy.
The suspect, Jumaraz was arrested after he was nominated in the FIR and doctor’s medical report confirmed that the girl had been raped and killed by the same person. Following the report, the police lodged an FIR under Section 7 Anti-Terrorism Act, 302 and 376 against him.
It is believed that the suspect, who has been sent on a seven-day physical remand to police custody, had been involved in similar cases in the past.
