MIRPURKHAS: Mirpurkhas irrigation drainage department workers held a protest rally to demand their salaries in front of District Council Office and Deputy Commissioner Office.
Clerks, operators, watchmen and other workers claimed that they have not been paid for the last many months and will protest until they receive their salaries. The workers also threatened self-immolation if their demands are not met. They urged the federal and provincial government of Sindh to take note of the issue and ensure payment of their salaries at the earliest. Workers said employees did not have money to buy clothes for their children ahead of Eid.
