LAHORE: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has on Tuesday issued notices to the chiefs of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the foreign funding case.
While hearing the petition filed by PTI leader Farrukh Habib, ECP issued notices to PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and PPP chiefs Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. In his petition, Habib had maintained that the assets’ details of PPP and PML-N submitted to the ECP ahead of 2013 and 2015 elections were incomplete.
The petition prayed that PPP and PML-N should be questioned on the issue because there was a possibility of receiving prohibited funding since evidence of these parties getting funds from UK and US was available.
The ECP chief ordered PTI to submit their answer before the commission in their foreign funding case on January 8.
