WASHINGTON: The US Department of State on Tuesday declared Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Tehreek-e-Azaad Jammu Kashmir (TAJK) as terrorist organisations.
The US included MML and TAJK in its Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO) list while identifying both as branches of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba.
“The aliases have been added to LeT’s designations as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, and as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) under Executive Order 13224,” the state department said in a statement.
Moreover, the US state department has also enlisted 7 individuals in their wanted terrorists list, who are identified as Saifullah Khalid, Muzammil Iqbal Hashmi, Muhammad Harris Dar, Tabish Qayyum, Fayyaz Ahmed, Faisal Nadeem and Muhammad Ehsaan.
The US also claim that MML, which was established in 2017, is headed by LeT leader Hafiz Saeed.
