Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal said that the participation of more than 250 female athletes in the Lahore Youth Festival (LYF) 2024 trials is a welcome sign and the enthusiasm of the players in the trials is treat to watch.
Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal, who was the chief guest at the trials, expressed these views while talking to media at the trials of Lahore Youth Festival being conducted at the Punjab Stadium on Monday.
Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal witnessed the trials and appreciated the performance of participating female players.
Director Admin M Kaleem, Director Sports Yasmeen Akhtar, Director Youth Affairs Rana Nadeem Anjum and other officials were also present on the occasion.
On Monday, the Lahore Youth Festival trials of Long Jump, Javelin Throw, High Jump, Triple Jump, Discus Throw and Tug-of-War were held in the presence of selection committee members.
In his media talk, Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal said that the top performing players will be selected in the Lahore Youth Festival trials. “The finals of the Lahore Youth Festival will be held on November 8-10 at the Fortress Stadium,” he informed.
Director General Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal said that the top performers of Lahore Youth Festival will be included in the Sports Endowment Fund. “The best players of the event will be prepared and further trained for national and international sports competitions”.
