ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa on Monday said that the armed forces were ready to take on both domestic and foreign challenges.
While addressing the passing out cadets of Pakistan Air Force at the Asghar Khan Academy in Risalpur, the army chief said Pakistan will respond fittingly to its enemies irrespective of their size if they dare to launch an act of aggression. “Our enemy will be inflicted with irreparable losses in case of an aggressive act. Any adventurism will receive a fitting response,” he said.
The chief of army staff said that the military was determined for restoration of peace and nobody would be let interpret its efforts and sacrifices the wrong way. He said Pakistan’s war against terror had met success as no country had rendered more sacrifices. However, he lamented that unfortunately the international powers did not acknowledge Pakistan’s efforts against extremism.
Lauding the PAF, Gen Qamar said the force was the most important part of the country’s defence, adding it had played a significant role in destroying terrorists’ hideouts and training camps near the Pak-Afghan border. The army chief congratulated the cadets who passed out with distinction and decorated the entire batch of 129 cadets with badges.
Meanwhile, the army chief visited the family of an army soldier in village Chah Ganja, Jhelum, who embraced martyrdom at the Line of Control on September 29, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
