A National “Marka-e-Haq Monument” is being developed in sector H-8 to commemorate National Triumph against Indian bellicosity and aggression. Monument is being constructed at an existing under-utilized park which will undergo transformation into a modern public attraction site.
The theme of National Monument revolves around Qur’anic phrase “Bunyan-um-Marsoos”, meaning “Wall of Steel”, which showcases the unwavering resolve and spirit of the Nation against all threats.
Relevant Government Agency has been entrusted with planning, design and construction of the monument and Capital Development Authority (CDA) has handed over the site for development of the monument.
Sources in the CDA said that the monument was being developed on the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Federal Government will provide funding for the project.
Following the unveiling of an innovative design by PM on 13/14 August night, the execution teams have mobilized at site. Heavy machinery and specialized cranes were brought to the site on Thursday and ground leveling work has commenced. The construction will incorporate world-class materials pallets and the highest international quality standards, ensuring aesthetics combining durability and longevity.
“The main purpose of this project is to celebrate National unity exhibited during the war termed as
Marka-e-Haq”, said an official source. They added that the monument will act as symbol of resilience and pride. Visitors will be captivated by the striking architecture of the monument, which has been designed to evoke a sense of pride, humility and reflection.
The project is set to become a symbol of National unity and a significant addition to the Capital city’s landscape.
